Sebastian Shapers 25th Anniversary

Hollywood had a very good hair day! The world famous Paramount Studios Lot was filled with hair stylists from around the world, including Janine Jarman and other alums from Bravo’s hit, Sheer Genius, to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Sebastian Professional’s legendary Shaper hairspray; a larger-than-life event that was like Mardi Gras and New Years combined!
The evening kicked off with a fierce hair show including live styling from Sebastian stylists and models strutting their edgy, avant garde coiffs down the runway, choreographed both visually and musically to the sounds of DJ Z-Trip and a performance by The Sounds.

Located throughout the event were live styling stations, sculptors, artists and acrobats, all lending to the fearlessly chic vibe for which the Sebastian brand has always been known.

An unforgettable experience provided a platform to celebrate the Shapers 25th Anniversary and its new line of products. The experience was designed to reflect the future gothic style of jewelry designer, Pamela Love, and new product packaging. Prince Poppycock opened the show with a rousing performance of Figaro Aria, and DJ Z-Trip provided a custom music mix supplemented by visually appealing and branded video images. This audio/visual explosion continued throughout the runway show that featured 15 stylists and 60 models showcasing three product categories – texture, volume and vibrant. A choreographed visual effect with white balloons extended the excitement and drama into the skies. The evening entertainment culminated with a performance by The Sounds.

The overall creative vision was brought to life by globally renowned, award-winning director, Dean Karr, who also created a historical homage, archiving the 25 years of ad campaigns and photography. He conducted a live photo shoot during the event and overall set design. Additional interactive experiences included roaming performing artists such as contortionists and stilt walkers, a video “future confessional booth” where guests confessed their mischievous thoughts that were projected live throughout the event, 3-D photo booth that captured guests in futuristic settings that were also pushed out into social, along with live sculptures and painters. There were over 1,200 guests and 30 attending media.
